Our Story

Our journey at Healthy Hemp started in 2014 when CEO, Amanda Witters, was introduced to the wonderful world of hemp products.

Amanda quickly discovered that the industry was overly saturated with unethical behaviors and low-quality products. It seemed like every CBD product she tried was either unpalatable or full of unhealthy flavorings and dyes. Though this was true, Amanda knew the industry could do better, not only for taste but also for safety and health.

Why safety and health?

Well, too many of these new hemp extract companies were taking shortcuts that resulted in misinformation about what people were really buying. They lacked Certificates of Analysis (COAs), or the tests that tell a customer if a product is relatively safe and contains x amount of CBD and other cannabinoids. These companies used extraction methods that could leave behind toxic residuals. Or worse – they added compounds that they didn’t even put on the label as being in the product. Amanda then went on a search and found that the best companies provided recent lab reports on the safety and contents of their hemp products.

Her motivation was to provide herself and other wellness-conscious friends with the best products available. She immediately realized that friends of friends, family, and even strangers were asking her what products to try. This need created a spark in Amanda’s entrepreneurial spirit and created the passion that launched Healthy Hemp.
